Our Tall Ships cruises for 2012 have concluded. Thank you to all who joined us on these beautiful sails, and we hope to see you again in 2013.

May 22 – 30, 2012 NYC Tall Ship/Fleet Week Cruises

Celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star Spangled Banner with a close up viewing of the Tall Ships and the extensive Naval Fleet!

Sail aboard New Horizons, 50 ton, 60’, 49 passenger US Coast Guard Certified Tortola Motor Sailer. View the historic ships in style and comfort as we cruise past the fleet.

The New York City skyline
Battery Park, a 20-acre park at the southern tip of Manhattan, where artillery has been stationed over the centuries
Ellis Island, the immigrant doorway to America from 1892 to 1954
The Statue of Liberty, a French gift that arrived in New York harbor in 1885 and has come to represent our nation’s freedom and ideals

Join us for a relaxing experience as we sail across the Hudson to see the Tall Ships and Military vessels visiting for OpSail 2012/Fleet Week.

You’ll experience many of the following on your 2 hour cruise:

Sunset/Tall Ships at Anchor Sail

See International tall ships from around the world at anchor south of the Verrazano Bridge as they gather in preparation for the big parade on May 23rd.

Manhattan skyline at its best as the sun sets and you relax, and see the Tall Ships and Military vessels parade along NYC.

How to get there

Newport is well-served by transportation links to New York City including the adjacent Holland Tunnel for access to lower Manhattan, as well as having good connections to the rest of New Jersey via the New Jersey Turnpike.
Public transportation consists of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail and the PATH which have stops in Newport (Pavonia-Newport).
Ferry service operates weekdays during rush hours at 30 minute intervals. Service from Newport goes to West 39th Street and 12th Avenue in midtown Manhattan. Visit www.nywaterway.com.
The area is also served by several New Jersey Transit bus lines as well as some private bus lines.

Directions

New Jersey 
Turnpike (Exit 14 C-Holland Tunnel) 
At first sight of traffic lights approaching Holland Tunnel make a right into Jersey Avenue and bear left immediately onto Newport Parkway. At next traffic light, Newport Parkway and Washington blvd. Move into left lane; go approximately ¼ mile and make a U-turn at the traffic light on Thomas Gangemi Blvd. or 6th St. At approximately 500 feet make right into Marina entrance.
From New York – Holland Tunnel 
At first traffic light after exiting the tunnel, make right onto Luis Marin Blvd. (Hess station on corner). At next traffic light bear right onto 18th Street (Newport Plaza will be on your right). 18th Street becomes Washington Blvd. Move into left lane; go approximately ¾ mile and make a U-turn at traffic light. At approximately 500 feet, make right into Marina entrance.
