The Fabled New England Coastlines
In between the colorful and well known landmarks, the coasts of New England are a stunning landscape of rocky cliffs and coastline, picturesque cottages, small rocky islands, quaint hotels, and breathtaking mansions. Sea life is abundant, and sightings of seals and whales are common. Many species of birds call the coasts home as well, and bird watching is a popular pastime. These legendary coastlines offer endless charm, beauty, history, and adventure. |

The Light at Goat Island
This almost two century old light was established in 1835 to guard the entrance to Cape Porpoise Harbor. The current tower has been doing its job for 151 years now, though it has been made significantly easier in the twenty years since the Coast Guard automated the light. The Light remains a quintessential fixture of the classic coastlines of New England. The island is closed to the public today, making the views from the water the closest, and still the best, that you can get. |

The Estate at Walker's Point
The Bush compound on Walker's Point is the summer home of the 41st President of the United States, George H. W. Bush. The estate, purchased in the late 19th century by St. Louis banker George H. Walker, has been a family retreat since a mansion was built there in 1903. President H.W. Bush often boats and fishes in the waters around his home, and the house is a beautiful example of the New England shingle style of architecture that is visible all along the coastline.
